It’s hard to get to know someone and what they value online. Here’s a list of things I’m learning that hopefully gives you a sense of who I am.

- The ‘purity’ of your motivators doesn’t matter as long as you’re motivated and you have good values
- The best people are able to keep their standards extremely high for everything they do for long periods of time without letting in.
- Strive to bring happiness to the world, and remember that when interacting with people.
- Try to avoid over-stimulating yourself with too much media / music / etc. Keeping your status-quo on the lower end of stimulation helps you avoid addictive tendencies. But also don’t keep strict rules with these :)
- Paying attention to how your self-talk changes your behavior can be a big productivity boost.
- Everything is a skill, it’s just a matter of putting enough work into it to learn it.
- In order to change the world, you must first know the world.
- A relaxed mind is infinitely curious.

- The hardest part about leadership is taking disparate signals and structuring them into a direction.
- There’s no limit to willpower; there’s no quota for the day.
- The people who are most successful are the best at learning to be content in difficult emotional states (boredom, loneliness, fatigue, uncertainty, stress, anxiety).
- A job is training to weather the difficult emotional states felt in the domain area.
- Software → not getting frustrated by debugging
- PM → not getting frustrated when people don’t meet deadlines
- etc.
- Those who can deal with any difficult emotional state can learn to do anything.
- You will never always feel incredible. Don’t over-optimize your life around feeling incredible, over-optimize your life to perform at your best no matter how you are feeling.
- When you get distracted, it’s just you trying to escape from something hard.
- Time management ⇒ pain management
- Your ego is the source of why you compare yourself to others. Instead of thinking that you should be ‘better’ than someone, know they are there as a resource to help you get to their level. This perspective shift will make you immensely happier.
